Tropico Latin Flavors | 5.2

Dining out is often a treat, an opportunity to relax, enjoy good food, and be pampered with excellent service. Unfortunately, our recent visit to Tropico Latin Flavors  turned out to be memorable for all the wrong reasons.

The Food: Adequate, but Not Outstanding

Let’s start with the positive: the food itself was ok. It wasn’t extraordinary or something to rave about, but it was not the worst. However, in the grand scheme of things, the food wasn’t enough to overshadow the numerous issues we faced during our visit.

The Service:

The service at Tropico Latin Flavors was, to put it mildly, exceptionally poor. It started on a good note; a waitress promptly came to take our drink orders shortly after we were seated. However, this initial impression quickly deteriorated.

Despite the quick ordering, our drinks never arrived. When the same waitress returned to take our food order, we inquired about our drinks. She seemed confused and asked who had taken our drink orders, offering to check their status. We were baffled, as it was she who had taken our drink orders. Realizing her mistake, she admitted she had forgotten to relay our order to the kitchen.

After a significant delay, our drinks finally arrived, delivered by another staff member who unceremoniously plopped them on our table without a word. This set the tone for the rest of our meal.

An Uncoordinated Service Team

We decided to start with some appetizers and then decide on our main courses. The appetizers arrived, and the same waitress who forgot our drink orders noticed we were sharing and eating off our napkins. She asked if we would like plates, to which we agreed. Yet, the plates never materialized.

As we neared the end of our appetizers, another waitress appeared. Without asking if we were finished, she began clearing our table, including a beer that was still one-third full. Her abruptness and lack of communication made it clear that they were in a hurry to turn over the table, even though we hadn’t yet ordered our main courses.

Rushed and Unwelcoming

The service team’s actions clearly indicated that they were more interested in getting us out of the door than in providing a pleasant dining experience. This impression was further reinforced by their lack of attentiveness and courtesy throughout our visit.

In Conclusion: A Unique Experience, but Not in a Good Way

Our dining experience at Tropico Latin Flavors was indeed unique, but not for the reasons you would hope. From forgotten orders to rude and rushed staff, it was clear that customer satisfaction was not a priority.

We left feeling rushed, unwelcome and disappointed. Dining out should be an enjoyable experience, but unfortunately this was not the case at Tropico Latin Flavors. Sure a restaurant can have a bad day, but if on 1 day none of the staff can provide decent service and at the end there is no interest, in the customer’s experience, that says enough as far as I am concerned!

The restaurant itself did look bright, but when the staff walks around like that, it obviously brings down the whole atmosphere.
