Exploring The Hazel House in Dublin:

Dublin’s vibrant food scene has a hidden gem nestled in the mountains, offering a unique escape from the city’s hustle and bustle. The Hazel House, a charming farm restaurant, is a haven for those seeking organic, fresh food in a serene setting. Here, you can relax in the garden, breathe in the crisp, clean air, and savor high-quality meals that won’t break the bank.

At The Hazel House, the focus on fresh, organic ingredients is evident in every dish. The menu showcases a variety of wholesome options that celebrate local produce. During our visit, we were delighted by the quality and flavor of each item we tried.

A Taste of Hazel House

We began our culinary journey with their own craft beer, a refreshing and perfectly brewed beverage that set the tone for a great meal. Following the beer, we indulged in a N’duja Toastie served with their own organic salad and crispy potato cubes. This dish was not only incredibly tasty but also filling, making it a perfect choice for a hearty lunch.

The highlight of our meal was the Irish beef stew, accompanied by the best mash potatoes we’ve ever tasted. The stew was rich and savory, with tender chunks of beef that melted in your mouth. The mashed potatoes were creamy and fresh, perfectly complementing the stew. The sourdough bread served alongside was a delightful addition, enhancing the overall experience with its rustic flavor.

An Enchanting Ambiance

The Hazel House’s ambiance is as inviting as its menu. The garden area is a tranquil retreat where you can unwind and soak in the natural beauty of the surrounding mountains. The fresh air and serene environment make dining here a rejuvenating experience. It’s a perfect spot for families, couples, and solo diners looking to escape the city and enjoy a peaceful meal.

Inside, the restaurant maintains a cozy, rustic charm with wooden decor and warm lighting, creating an intimate atmosphere. The interior complements the outdoor garden, making The Hazel House a versatile dining destination suitable for any weather.

Room for Improvement

While we were thoroughly impressed with the food and the idyllic setting, the service at The Hazel House left room for improvement. We noticed a few tables with dirty cutlery and missing napkins, which is a matter of checking the tables more often. Additionally, the ordering process was somewhat confusing. Guests are required to order inside but pay after their meal, necessitating two trips indoors. This setup felt inefficient, especially since most of the staff appeared to be idle and engaged in conversation.

A Worthwhile Visit

Despite the minor service hiccups, our overall experience at The Hazel House was positive. The quality of the food, the refreshing beer, and the picturesque location make it a must-visit destination for anyone in Dublin looking for a unique dining experience. The blend of culinary delights and serene natural beauty creates an unforgettable experience.

If you’re in the mood for a delightful farm-to-table meal amidst stunning natural scenery, The Hazel House is the place to be. Just be prepared for a slightly unconventional service approach and focus on enjoying the exceptional food and beautiful surroundings. This charming spot promises not only a delicious meal but also a peaceful retreat from the everyday hustle and bustle.
