Indulge your taste buds with a tantalizing dish that combines succulent shrimp, fragrant garlic, and creamy linguine pasta. This recipe for a rich and creamy shrimp linguine is a perfect balance of flavors and textures, making it an ideal choice for a cozy dinner at home or a special occasion with loved ones.

Ingredients:

  • 300g uncooked shrimp, fresh or frozen (garlic-marinated for extra flavor)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 200 ml tomato purée (or tomato sauce, but I used tomato purée for a richer, deeper flavor )
  • 100 ml light cooking cream (7% fat)
  • Fresh parsley, chopped
  • 300g linguine pasta
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Pasta water
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon chili flakes
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon Cajun powder

Instructions:

  1. Cook the Linguine: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the linguine pasta and cook according to the package instructions until al dente. Reserve a cup of pasta water before draining the pasta.
  2. Prepare the Shrimp: In a large skillet, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant. Then, add the garlic-marinated shrimp to the skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side until they turn pink and opaque. Remove the shrimp from the skillet and set aside.
  3. Prepare the Sauce: In the same skillet, add the remaining olive oil and unsalted butter. Once the butter has melted, add the tomato purée and stir well. Cook for 2-3 minutes to allow the flavors to meld together.
  4. Add the Spices: Sprinkle the garlic powder, smoked paprika, chili flakes, dried oregano, and Cajun powder into the sauce. Stir to combine and let the sauce simmer for another minute.
  5. Finish the Dish: Pour the light cooking cream into the skillet and stir until it’s well incorporated into the sauce. Season with salt and pepper to taste. If the sauce is too thick, add some of the reserved pasta water to achieve the desired consistency.
  6. Combine the Ingredients: Add the cooked linguine pasta and shrimp back into the skillet with the sauce. Toss everything together until the pasta and shrimp are evenly coated with the creamy sauce.
  7. Serve: Garnish the shrimp linguine with freshly chopped parsley for a pop of color and freshness. Divide the pasta among serving plates and serve hot.

With its rich and creamy sauce infused with garlic and spices, this shrimp linguine recipe is sure to become a favorite in your culinary repertoire. Whether you’re cooking for a weeknight dinner or entertaining guests, this dish is guaranteed to impress with its irresistible flavors and elegant presentation. So why wait? Gather your ingredients and embark on a culinary journey that will tantalize your taste buds and satisfy your cravings. Enjoy!
