Gadea & Gadea Garden Italian Restaurant | 9.3

If you’re looking for a taste of Italy at Zanzibar, look no further than Residence Gadea and Gadea Garden Italian Restaurant. The restaurant is based in a little village near the beach of Jambiani.

While not all of the dishes are 100% authentic Italian, they are still delicious and worth a visit. Take their pizza, for example. Instead of the traditional pizza crust, they use a chapati (an African pancake/wrap) as the base for their toppings. It may not be traditional, but it certainly is tasty.

The menu at Gadea Garden Italian Restaurant is incredibly extensive, offering everything from seafood to snacks to pasta, pizza and even burgers. There is truly something for everyone. And the portions are generous, so be prepared to leave with a full stomach.

But it’s not just the food that makes this restaurant a must-visit. The atmosphere is delightful, with a charming décor with lots of plants and a stunning seaview. It is the perfect place for a romantic lunch/ dinner with your partner. The ambiance will make for an unforgettable experience.

One thing to note is that the prices at Gadea Garden Italian Restaurant are on the higher side (according to the other restaurant prices on Zanzibar.) If you are used to dutch prices it was still cheap for everything we got.

Overall, if you’re looking for a delicious (Italian) meal with a great view and charming atmosphere, look no further than Residence Gadea and their Gadea Garden Italian Restaurant.

Fun fact: One of our tourguides told us the first tourist that came to Zanzibar where Italian so thats the reason why a lot of restaurants serve italian dishes. Also the little children we met learned to say Ciao and still use it to say hello to tourists.
