Meme Vietnamese Food | 7.4

Rotterdam, a city brimming with diverse culinary experiences, is home to this charming and aesthetically pleasing restaurant offers a wide range of Vietnamese dishes. My recent visit to Meme Vietnamese food, was marked by anticipation and curiosity, as I embarked on a culinary adventure filled with homemade iced teas and Vietnamese specialties.

Meme has a cozy and inviting ambiance. As I entered the restaurant, I was immediately struck by its charming decor and warm, welcoming atmosphere. The staff at Meme are friendly and attentive, ensuring that your dining experience is nothing short of delightful.

One of the aspects that piqued my interest and heightened my anticipation was Meme’s impressive selection of homemade iced teas. With five distinct flavors to choose from, I couldn’t wait to sample these delightful beverages. Let’s take a closer look at these enticing iced teas.

To begin my culinary journey at Meme, I opted for the Meme Ice Tea with ginger and lemon. This particular blend promised a refreshing and slightly spicy flavor profile, thanks to the infusion of ginger and the zesty notes of lemon. The result was a well-balanced iced tea. It was an ideal choice for a palate-cleansing start to the meal.

Next on my iced tea adventure was the Magic Mango, a delightful combination of green tea and mango jelly. This creation was nothing short of enchanting. The subtle bitterness of the green tea played harmoniously with the sweet and tangy nuances of the mango jelly.

Then it was time to delve into the culinary offerings at Meme. The menu boasted an array of Vietnamese dishes that promised an authentic taste of Vietnam. Our selection included Vietnamese pancakes adorned with shrimp, chicken, and a medley of fresh vegetables, spring rolls filled with a delightful combination of chicken and shrimp, and chicken wontons.

The presentation of the dishes was visually appealing, and I couldn’t wait to savor the flavors. True to Vietnamese cuisine, the dishes offered a harmonious blend of sweet, salty, and savory flavors, with the fresh herbs and vegetables enhancing the overall experience.

However, a noticeable issue soon came to light – the chicken. In each of the dishes we ordered, the chicken appeared dry and overcooked. It was evident that pre-cooked chicken was used across the board, resulting in a uniform and monotonous taste. The dry chicken had a significant impact on the overall impression of the dishes, leaving us yearning for more variety and texture in our meal.

My visit to Meme Vietnamese Food was a mixed experience, marked by both highs and lows. The restaurant’s ambiance and the iced teas were the highlights, creating the perfect backdrop for a leisurely and enjoyable meal. However, the consistent use of dry chicken in the dishes left room for improvement. While the flavors were pleasant and reminiscent of authentic Vietnamese cuisine, the lack of diversity in the chicken preparation hindered the overall dining experience.

In conclusion, while I may not rush back to Meme for the food, I wholeheartedly recommend a visit to explore their selection of iced teas. With five unique and delightful options to choose from, there’s an opportunity to embark on a flavorful journey and find the one that resonates with your taste buds. The magic mango iced tea, in particular, is a must-try for anyone seeking a refreshing and memorable beverage.
