La Lupe Cantina | 8.3

During our time on the beautiful island of Lanzarote, we were intrigued by the promise of a taste of Mexico at restaurant La Lupe Cantina. Unfortunately, luck was not on our side, as the restaurant seemed to be closed for most of our visit. However, on our last day, we finally had the opportunity to satisfy our craving for Mexican cuisine and explore the flavors of La Lupe Cantina. Let me share our experience of this Mexican-style restaurant with you.

Upon entering La Lupe Cantina, we were immediately captivated by its cool and vibrant interior. The attention to detail was evident, with unique elements that added to the overall ambiance. One particular highlight was the glasses, which were shaped like skulls, adding a touch of Mexican flair to our dining experience.

While La Lupe Cantina may have been on the pricier side compared to other establishments on the island, we found that the quality of the food justified the cost. The menu offered a range of Mexican dishes, each promising a journey of flavors and spices. We eagerly delved into our selections, excited to indulge in the vibrant cuisine.

However, as we savored each dish, we couldn’t help but notice that some of them lacked the bold and distinctive flavors we had anticipated. While the overall quality was good, a few dishes fell short in terms of flavor profiles. We felt that they could benefit from a stronger seasoning or the addition of bolder ingredients to truly capture the essence of Mexican cuisine.

Despite this minor setback, we appreciated the effort and attention to detail that went into each dish. The presentation was visually appealing, and the ingredients used were of good quality. It was evident that the kitchen put thought and care into their creations, even if they missed the mark on flavor in a few instances.

In conclusion, La Lupe Cantina offered a Mexican culinary adventure on the island of Lanzarote. While our experience was hindered by the restaurant’s limited opening hours, we were finally able to sample their Mexican fare on our last day. The cool and vibrant interior added to the overall ambiance, creating a memorable dining experience. Although the restaurant leaned towards the pricier side, the quality of the food was commendable, even if some dishes lacked the desired flavor punch. If you find yourself craving Mexican cuisine on Lanzarote, La Lupe Cantina is worth a visit for its atmosphere and the opportunity to savor a taste of Mexico in a unique setting.
