GAJA Korean BBQ & Bar | 8.3

Nestled near the renowned Amsterdam Central Station, GAJA Korean BBQ & Bar welcomes diners to indulge in a tantalizing culinary adventure. With its recent opening, this all-you-can-eat restaurant offers a unique experience, complemented by its picturesque waterfront location. GAJA’s extensive menu showcases a delightful array of options, and what stood out the most was their thoughtful inclusion of both marinated and non-marinated versions for certain dishes. From a wide selection of meats, fish, and veggies to an abundance of delectable sides, GAJA has something for every palate.

While the food at GAJA certainly impressed, it is worth mentioning that the service left something to be desired. The waitstaff appeared inexperienced and lacked knowledge about the drinks being served. We encountered a situation where we ordered two different red wines, but they were brought to our table without any indication as to which was which. Upon inquiry, the waitstaff seemed equally clueless. Additionally, during our second round of drinks, which we ordered along with our second round of food, they were inexplicably delayed. It took multiple reminders for our drinks to arrive, and unfortunately, they were delivered when we had already finished eating, causing a slight inconvenience.

Despite the service hiccups, the quality of the food at Gaja surpassed our expectations, making it a standout among other all-you-can-eat establishments. The flavors were robust, and the meats were cooked to perfection. The inclusion of both marinated and non-marinated options allowed us to personalize our dining experience and explore different taste profiles. The abundance of sides provided a well-rounded accompaniment to the main dishes, adding texture and variety to each bite.

Ultimately, GAJA Korean BBQ & Bar offers a flavorful journey near Amsterdam Central Station. Its scenic location by the water adds a charming touch to the dining experience. While improvements are needed in terms of the waitstaff’s knowledge and efficiency, the quality of the food undoubtedly sets GAJA apart from many other all-you-can-eat establishments. If you’re looking to satisfy your Korean cuisine cravings with a wide selection of meats, fish, veggies, and an assortment of sides, Gaja is worth a visit. With some fine-tuning of their service, Gaja has the potential to become an even more memorable dining destination in Amsterdam.
