Finca | 7.6

If you’re looking for a unique dining experience in Rotterdam, Finca is a restaurant you won’t want to miss. With its shared dining concept, Finca offers a diverse selection of meat, fish, and vegetable dishes perfect for sharing with friends and family. Here’s a closer look at our visit to this atmospheric eatery and the delightful dishes we enjoyed.

A Culinary Journey of Shared Delights

Finca’s menu is designed to encourage sharing, allowing diners to sample a variety of flavors and textures in one meal. During our visit, we sampled several standout dishes that showcased the restaurant’s commitment to quality and creativity.

Coquilles Pata Negra

Our culinary adventure began with the coquilles Pata Negra. This dish was not only delicious but also presented in a unique and visually quiet appealing way. The scallops were served on a bed of crispy potato and veggie chips, adding an interesting texture contrast to the tender, flavorful coquilles. The combination of the delicate scallops with the savory Pata Negra ham created a delightful harmony of flavors.

Taquitas with Salmon and Beef

Next, we tried the taquitas, both the salmon and the beef varieties. These bite-sized tacos were packed with fresh, vibrant ingredients. The salmon taquitas were light and refreshing, with a hint of citrus that complemented the fish perfectly. The beef taquitas, on the other hand, were rich and savory, with tender beef and sweet sauce.

Brisket Argentina

For our final dish, we had the brisket Argentina. This was a true highlight of our meal. The brisket was incredibly tender and full of flavor, cooked to perfection. Each bite was a testament to the care and expertise that goes into Finca’s dishes.

Atmosphere and Ambiance

Finca is not just about great food; it’s also about the experience. The restaurant boasts a charming and atmospheric interior, with plenty of space both inside and outside. Whether you’re dining indoors or enjoying the fresh air on the patio, Finca provides a comfortable and inviting environment.

However, it was a bit disheartening to see the restaurant nearly empty during our Saturday lunch visit. With such a fantastic menu and ambiance, it was surprising that more people weren’t taking advantage of this culinary gem.

Service: Room for Improvement

While the food and atmosphere at Finca were top-notch, the service left something to be desired. Despite the restaurant being almost empty, we had to wait over 15 minutes to place our order. One of the staff members was engaged in a lengthy personal phone conversation about her private life and upcoming party plans, seemingly oblivious to the diners waiting to be served. While it’s understandable that staff may have downtime when the restaurant is quiet, attention to customers should always be a priority.

Final Thoughts

Finca is a delightful restaurant with a lot to offer. The shared dining concept allows you to explore a variety of flavors, and the dishes we tried—from the coquilles Pata Negra to the brisket Argentina—were all delicious and well-prepared. The restaurant’s atmosphere is both cozy and spacious, making it a great spot for a relaxed meal with friends or family.

Despite the service hiccup, Finca’s excellent food and inviting ambiance make it a worthy addition to Rotterdam’s dining scene. With a little more attention to customer service, it has the potential to become a favorite for locals and visitors alike. So, if you’re in Rotterdam and looking for a unique dining experience, give Finca a try—you won’t be disappointed.
