Nestled in the heart of Amsterdam, Melly’s Cookies Bar is a heaven for cookie enthusiasts and sweet-toothed individuals alike. This delightful establishment is a part of the renowned “Too Good To Go” initiative. We recently had the pleasure of trying out a box of goodies from Melly’s, priced at €4,99. The contents exceeded our expectations, boasting a market value of at least €14,99 and probably even more. Which was definitely in line with the promised value of €14,99.
Melly’s Cookies Bar serves various cookies and traditional Dutch stroopwafels (waffles filled with syrup). Our box included a delectable assortment of three stroopwaffles with tempting toppings. While as a Dutch girl, I personally lean towards the simplicity of regular stroopwafels, the adorned versions were a delightful surprise for those seeking a more decadent experience.
The star of the show was undoubtedly the soft and gooey chocolate cookie that graced our box. With a perfect balance of sweetness and richness, it easily secured its spot as one of the best cookies I’ve ever had. The sheer indulgence of each bite left a lasting impression, making it a must-try for any cookie lover.
Adding an extra layer of sweetness to our Melly’s experience was the inclusion of a Cinnabon “bun.” This twist on the classic cinnamon roll was both visually appealing and scrumptious. The combination of soft dough, aromatic cinnamon, and sweet glaze made it a true delight for our taste buds.
While I couldn’t find the exact prices online, a quick estimation suggests that a single stroopwaffle with toppings might cost around €4-€5 elsewhere. Considering the diverse array of treats we received in our box, the overall value easily surpassed the modest €4,99 price tag. The commitment to affordability and reducing food waste aligns seamlessly with Too Good To Go’s mission.
