Exploring “TooGoodtoGo” – Di Mama’s | 8.3

In a world where food waste is a pressing concern, “TooGoodtoGo” offers a delicious solution to a global problem. Recently, we embarked on a culinary adventure, diving into the world of “Too Good to Go” boxes, and our first stop was take away restauarant Di Mama’s in Amsterdam.

For €4.99, we unlocked a treasure chest of culinary delights that would have cost at least €15 if purchased separately. However, what awaited us inside the “Too Good to Go” box exceeded all expectations.

Our haul included:

  • 2 refreshing smoothies, each valued at €5
  • 1 delectable basil panini
  • 1 creamy mozzarella panini
  • 1 succulent chicken panini
  • 1 savory prosciutto panini

Ordinarily, each panini alone would set you back €7. The total value of the box amounted to a staggering €34, a jaw-dropping revelation that showcased the incredible value “Too Good to Go” offers.

Now, you might wonder if a box like this could retain their freshness. The answer is yes! Everything in the box was prepared earlier that day, ensuring that the flavors were still vibrant and inviting, as though they were freshly made.

The smoothies, while perhaps needing a gentle stir, tasted as fresh as if they had just been blended. The fruit flavors were robust and perfectly balanced, offering a refreshing complement to the savory paninis.

Our panini adventure began as we placed them under the grill, a quick reheat that transformed them into warm, crispy, and mouthwatering delights. The savory aroma of perfectly toasted bread filled the kitchen, making it hard to wait for the first bite. When we finally indulged, each panini offered a satisfying crunch, followed by a rich blend of flavors from the various fillings. Whether it was the creamy mozzarella, the succulent chicken, or the savory prosciutto, every bite was a reminder of why paninis are such a beloved culinary creation.

Ofcourse not every item in the box might be your personal favorite. For instance, a panini with just pesto and basil may not be to everyone’s liking, but that’s the beauty of “Too Good to Go.” It’s a delightful surprise, and everyone’s palate is different, so each box is a unique experience, providing a mix of flavors that can either introduce you to something new or satisfy a familiar craving.

In summary, our first “Too Good to Go” box at Di Mama’s was a great experience. The great value, the fresh and flavorful offerings, and the element of culinary surprise made it a memorable experience. While not every item may align with your taste preferences, the sheer excitement of unlocking this culinary treasure chest is an adventure worth embarking on.

I, for one, can’t wait to return to Di Mama’s, either through “Too Good to Go” or by ordering something myself. After all, who can resist the allure of delicious food and the satisfaction of contributing to a more sustainable future? Our “Too Good to Go” box had a total value of €34, and I can confidently say it was €34 well spent.

Please note, every day is different and so is every too good to go box. What’s inside depends of everything they have left. For each restaurant, the price indicates the minimum value of the box.
