Carmel Market Utrecht is a restaurant that offers a unique dining experience with its stunning and delicious dishes and cocktails. The restaurant has a middle eastern vibe, but does not serve authentic Middle eastern food. I still realy liked the food and the vibe, but if you are looking for anything authentic from the middle east, you should defenitely not visit the restaurant.
The menu is comprised of small to medium-sized plates, perfect for sharing with friends and family. During our visit, we ordered three small plates, four medium plates, and two cocktails, and left feeling completely satisfied.

While the food was nice, the service unfortunately fell short on some moments.. Upon arriving at the restaurant, we were not greeted and when we approached the counter to let them know we had a reservation, the server simply responded with “OK” before turning to her colleague and starting to laugh.
This lady absolutely did not fit this type of restauarnt, but the rest of the staff thankfully did. After we were given the wrong cocktail, the cocktail shaker quickly walked up to us to tell us that he had the wrong cocktail in his head and had brought it to us. We got to keep the cocktail and got a new one immediately.
The restaurant is a bit on the pricier side, but the presentation and the decoration are definitely unique.
