BOSQ | 9

Nestled at the edge of the “De Duinen van Texel” National Park, BOSQ offers a dining experience that perfectly balances refined cuisine with the natural beauty of its surroundings. Conveniently located between the villages of Den Burg, De Koog, and Den Hoorn, this restaurant is a must-visit for food enthusiasts exploring Texel.

BOSQ’s reputation speaks for itself—it has been featured in the Lekker500 for five consecutive years and has held a place in the Michelin Guide since 2019. Starting in early 2024, it is also listed in the Gault Millau Guide, cementing its status as one of the top culinary destinations in the Netherlands.

An Evening to Remember

From the moment we stepped into Bosq, the experience was exceptional. The warm and attentive service made us feel welcome immediately. As soon as we were seated, we were presented with two amuses to kick off the evening—an excellent introduction that set the tone for the meal.

A Symphony of Flavors

Bosq’s menu showcases high-quality ingredients, with a focus on seasonal and regional produce. During our visit, we sampled several dishes, each thoughtfully prepared and beautifully presented.

  • Starters: We began with the Pata Negra ham and oysters, both fresh and bursting with flavor.
You could choose between 4 types of Oysters and we went for the Umami one, which I believe was a great choice.
  • Intermediate Courses: The North Sea crab and the Okonomiyaki with boneless spareribs followed. While the spareribs were tender, they could have used a touch more seasoning or glaze for my liking, since it was a bit blend. That said, the dish’s overall quality remained high.
  • Main Courses: The surf and turf was a standout, featuring BBQ-grilled Pata Negra meat paired with the perfectly cooked octopus. This serve and turf was abosolutely the best I’ve had so far. We also tried the Texel lamb from the BBQ, which highlighted the local produce with its rich and earthy flavors.

Every plate showcased a careful balance of flavors, with most dishes offering a memorable taste of Texel’s culinary excellence.

Atmosphere and Ambiance

BOSQ’s stunning location adds to the overall experience. The restaurant is surrounded by nature, creating a peaceful atmosphere that complements its sophisticated yet inviting interior design. Whether you’re dining indoors or on their outside terrace, the views and ambiance enhance the meal.

A Must-Visit on Texel

Bosq delivers an unforgettable dining experience with top-notch service, excellent food, and a beautiful setting. While the spareribs could use a bit more seasoning, the overall quality of the dishes and the impressive variety more than made up for it.

If you’re planning a trip to Texel, make sure to include BOSQ in your itinerary. We can’t wait to return and explore more of what this remarkable restaurant has to offer, because they have a lot of both food and drinks.
