IAbyssinia: A Journey Through African Cuisine in Amsterdam
If you’re looking for an special dining experience that takes you on a journey through the flavors and cultures of Africa, then Abyssinia restaurant in Amsterdam is a good restaurant to visit.
Upon entering the restaurant, you are immediately transported to the heart of Africa with its typical look. The walls, tables and seats are all painted in bright, bold colors, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. The servers are friendly, and although they don’t talk much.
When it comes to the food, Abyssinia does not disappoint. The menu is filled with an array of delicious and authentic African dishes, each one crafted with care and made from the freshest ingredients. From spicy stews and grilled meats, to delicious salads and sweet desserts, there is something to suit everyone. You get to eat the food with your hands and with an african pancake. So if you don’t like eating with your hands, this probably isn’t the restaurant for you. Although I found the food to be enjoyable, I couldn’t help but think that there may be better African restaurants in Amsterdam, which only speaks to the high standard of dining options in the city.
Unfortunately, our experience at the restaurant was not all positive. We were seated at a table in the second room, right in the middle, which made it difficult to hear ourselves think even when there were only a few other diners in the room. As more people arrived, the noise level increased to the point where it became impossible to have a conversation with each other.
In conclusion, if you’re looking for a unique dining experience in Amsterdam, then Abyssinia is well worth a visit. Its lively and colorful decor, friendly staff, and delicious food are sure to make your experience unforgettable. Just be prepared for a bit of noise depending where your table is placed.
