In a city like Amsterdam, it can sometimes be hard to find a place where you can eat well and leave feeling full without spending too much. Luckily, Lucky King en Hong, located in Amsterdam South-East, is a hidden gem where you not only get a great meal but might even leave with leftovers for the next day!

Generous Portions and Affordable Prices

What stands out the most about Lucky King en Hong is the generous portion sizes and affordable prices. We dined in and ordered a variety of dishes, including:

  • Speck with fried rice
  • Moksi meti with fried rice
  • Chicken fried rice

In addition to the large meals, we had three soft drinks, and the total cost for everything was just €60. Considering the amount of food we got, it was excellent value for money. There was so much on the plates that we even took some home, ensuring another tasty meal the next day or ofcoure, as a late night snack.

Surinamese-Chinese Cuisine at Its Best

The restaurant offers a mix of Surinamese and Chinese flavors, which results in a delicious fusion of dishes. The fried rice was flavorful, and the meats—whether it was the crispy speck or the tender moksi meti—were cooked perfectly. You can expect a rich combination of spices and sauces that make each bite satisfying.

Quick and attentive Service

One of the perks of dining at Lucky King en Hong is the speed of service. Even though the portions were large, the food arrived at our table surprisingly fast. The restaurant itself has a no-frills atmosphere, focusing more on delivering great food than flashy décor. It’s perfect for a casual lunch or dinner, especially if you’re in the mood for a hearty, flavorful meal.
