The Wings Paradise Amsterdam | 4.8

After achieving success in The Hague and Rotterdam, The Wings Paradise has opened its doors in Amsterdam, generating quite a buzz. With high expectations, we decided to give them a try via Uber Eats, but our experience was far from what we anticipated.

The ordering process

The ordering process was straightforward. You could choose a portion size of wings and add your preferred sauce and sides. We opted for the buffalo wings, expecting the renowned quality that the name “The Wings Paradise” suggests. However, what we received was a different story.

The food

Upon receiving our order, we were surprised to find chicken drumsticks instead of wings. Given the restaurant’s name and the dish’s title, this was unexpected. While drumsticks can be just as tasty, the quality of these left much to be desired.

The buffalo sauce was overwhelmingly sour for our liking. More troubling was the quality of the chicken. The pieces were small, about two bites each, with some parts being very tough. More concerning was the discovery of dark spots and red, undercooked areas within the chicken, indicating it wasn’t fully cooked.

Customer Service Response

We reached out to The Wings Paradise via Instagram, as they didn’t have a Google page yet. Despite the late hour, we received a prompt response. The Instagram representative notified the company, and we received a call around 10:30 PM. Unfortunately, the call did little to reassure us.

Unconvincing Explanations

The person who called offered excuses that didn’t quite add up. She mentioned that they had just changed their delivery company and that receiving chicken with more blood than usual happens once per bag they order, though this didn’t explain why almost all pieces were affected. Her explanations felt insincere and didn’t align with what we experienced.

Replacement

While they offered to send us new chicken, we declined. The quality issues weren’t limited to the undercooked pieces; even the seemingly okay pieces were not up to standard. This, combined with the unconvincing excuses, led us to refuse the offer of a replacement. However, they did indicate that through Uber eats we could probably get the money back, so we agreed to this.

Final Thoughts

Our experience with The Wings Paradise in Amsterdam was disappointing. The Instagram interaction was positive, but the overall experience left much to be desired. Misleading dish descriptions, poor-quality chicken, and unconvincing customer service all contributed to a negative first impression. The success of their other locations suggests they have the potential to improve, but our current experience indicates they need to address significant quality control issues to live up to their promise.

If they manage to resolve these issues, we might consider giving them another chance in the future. For now, however, we remain skeptical and would advise potential customers to be cautious. We hope this review serves as constructive feedback for The Wings Paradise and helps them improve their service and food quality.
